This hose is crap, I bought a $40 100 foot gray hose from Home Depot back in 2002. It is still working just fine and does not kink like this hose from Ace. Yes, it has had two repairs, one my fault and on its own but still 100 times better than this $55 piece of junk.
I'm so happy to have a great hardware store so close to home. They carry just about everything I've needed, from paint to hardware, and sprinklers, and bird feeders. The staff has always been extremely helpful and if you check their fliers, they often have some really great sales. I highly recommend this Ace Hardware store.
You are always welcomed to the store and asked if you need help finding anything unlike Lowes or home depot where you can't find anyone to help you
Bought an Ace brand orange $55 supposed top of their line garden hose. After roughly 5-6 weeks I got tired of how over and over it would consistently kink and irritate the crap out of any one.
Lowe's it's much cheaper everyone and they accept all returns.
Meant to give no stars, won't let me delete them.
Stay away from this hose and this Ace!
Short of breaking off the faucet from the wall (made of softer copper pipe) I head over to the store were purchased it with a picture of the issue and tried to explain to the manager the situation.
Next words out of his mouth were do you have your receipt. I said unfortunately no, but you can clearly see from the pic it's your hose and in like new condition. The he told me , sorry I can't do anything.
Ok, and so who's fault is that, surely not mine. That's Aces fault because as far as I know I have never ever seen an exterior hose faucet made out of anything other than brass! !!
I was skeptical about purchasing it but the salesman kept repeating, Ace stands behind all their products, just bring it back if you have any issues at all. Ha, what a joke!
So, I walk in to this place and usually, someone comes up to you and asks what you need, not today, I walk in and there are 6 employees standing there and I walk up to one of them and show him these unusual screws I need for the sliding door at my place, he points to an isle and says that's where they are, the lady behind the register says aren't you going to take him there and he says no. So for 20 mins, I search the miriad of drawers for these elusive screws and the entire time there is no one else in the store and these employees are laughing and joking around. I could have gotten better service at home Depot. It was today, at 9:05-till 9:30. Terrible, terrible service! Isn't the service why we go there and pay more?
At that point I had had enough of this guy's stupidity and said a few choice words on my way out of the store.
His exact words were, it's because there are two dissimilar metals mated together.
What store does not let their customer exchange an item with the receipt?! I was not even trying to return. Yes the item was open but I had the resistor and only wanted an EXCHANGE.
Would have returned it sooner but life got in the way. Finally Sunday, on my only day off, I went to unscrew the coupler from my brass water faucet and apparently the cheap aluminum coupler on the hose (although looked beefy in the store) has corroded itself to my faucet.
