Family Hardware is my new Goto store. They were open before the storm when nobody else was. Had what I needed and the staff under very stressful conditions performed great. Even when the internet went out and had to go cash only with a store full of people.
I'll definitely be shopping here first for anything I need.
Today I stopped in to get ice for this weekend's cookout in my cooler (not a yeti, but that ground had already been covered). I am approached by the owner, Jeremy, whom I have not met before – and he asked if I am a yeti customer at the store. I describe my purchase history and the explanation I have been given of the ice machine deal. I am now in politely uninvited to use the ice machine from this point forward. Would've been a good thing to know before I loyally came only to family Hardware and paid full price for all my items (ace Hardware down the street regularly has them on sale).
Terrific selection of repairs parts, numerous items and fair pricing. Sales help is terrific with needed items. If they don't handle an item, you don't need it!
I am a full-time local resident, and I will now find another local business to support, one who knows how to honor a deal and keep their word.
Today ends my relationship with Family Hardware. I'm a firm believer in supporting local businesses, and and drive right past Home Depot to get to family Hardware. When I first came to the Cape 2 years ago I discovered family Hardware and the fact that I was going to need insulated drinkware down here in Florida. Family Hardware has a full selection of yeti coolers and drinkware, and a yeti ice machine that is free to use for yeti customers. I checked with the staff to find out if buying drinkware qualified me to get free ice… I was assured it did. On several different occasions. So for two years I have been making my hardware purchases there and buying all sorts of yeti tumblers and cruisers and food containers. I have been bringing visiting friends and relatives to the store so they could purchase yeti drinkware. And all along I've been stopping in a couple times a month to get ice for my cooler on the way to the beach or the pool or a cookout.
I work for a property management company and we use hardware stores for many things. As far as stock goes, they have much of what the other stores have. What makes them great, and the reason why they get our business, is their staff. Always welcoming, very knowledgeable and they are attentive. No more waiting around for someone who "works in this department".
We live in Punta Gorda but drove to the Cape because of the owners communication and knowledge of a major purchase that we were making. Very superb customer service and product knowledge that you just don't find these days. Thank you so much Jeremy, we appreciate you and your staff. You went above and beyond.
