This is bait and switch dentistry at it's worst. After a cleaning and initial consultation I made an appointment to come back for a root canal and crown. A couple days later I was in pain, called in to see if there was any earlier appointment available and was told they were closing and could prescibe pain medication, but we're not otherwise available. I waited through the weekend and got to my appointment only to be told another dentist would see me. Instead of a root canal, she told me she didn't think she could do the planned procedure and told me the only relief was extraction. I've made that mistake in the past and told them no, at which time the office manager asked me if I was questioning the dentist'older professionalism. I wasn't, but I was questioning her confidence and ability and ultimately tracked down the original dentist in another city and had the procedure successfully done there.
If I could give a negative star I would... On 12/ 23/ 2016 I took advantage of their introductory offer of X - ray / cleaning. I was told I had a cavity on two surfaces that needed immediate repair. This was stunning news as I have not had a cavity in 15 years.... The financial manager came into the exam room with a print out of the repair costs, she tried to pressure me right then to make an appointment for the repair. I told her I would rather wait until I had cash in hand to have it done.
Horrible! Had a toothache, and they recommended a complete root canal and crown! I went to my dentist up north and they said, all I needed was a filling...On their second dentist, in just the short time they have been open. Biller is very rude, never calls you back.Bottom Line: do not go here!
I made an appointment with my regular dentist in CA, and had completed all required paperwork to have Cape Smiles send my information to my dentist in CA. My CA dentist could barely read the poor quality x rays which were actually of a different patient.
Such a caring group of people! I had a dental emergency and they saw me the same day! And I had never been there before at all, very organized and efficient.
This place will try to sell you everything and the kitchen sink. Go in for routine cleaning and next thing you know you have a $1500 bill sitting in front of you. Was told initially I have no cavities then apparently I developed two over the next 10 minutes that they wouldn't show me on the x-rays. They'll stab your gums with a needle and if they bleed you need a deep cleaning and antibiotics and a 2003 Toyota Camry. If you're good at haggling with used car salesmen you'd have a lot of fun in this dentists office.
When I called in mid Feb. to make an appointment, I was told that it would probably cost more than the original estimate as the " cavity had probably deepened and covered more surface area". I smelled a rat.
People beware - get a second opinion!
*These are my wife's comments - not mine*
She examined me and found no cavities whatsoever. I paid my CA dentist $89 to tell me there were no cavities or problems.
