I was drawn in on the allure of getting into a decent and dependable vehicle. As a single father, that works full time, I was assured from the get-go that C&D would take care of me. I came in and found a truck that I liked. As soon as I starting signing paper work...I should have walked out. The truck needed a bad alignment. I was assured by KAREN KAREBEAR CARE SALESLADY that they would take a look and make sure my vehicle was safe. No sooner then them having my money and signed paperwork. I was informed that C&D WOULD NOT FIX MY ALIGNMENT. So I had to eat that.
Should carl choose to call and work with us, ill delete this review amd replace with a nicer one but upon reading these reviews, realize this is a lofty goal lol.

As a warning to anyone wanting to purchase a car from here, PLEASE DO NOT! You will be saving yourself A LOT of trouble. The salesman will tell you one thing, have you sign a bunch of papers, and the next thing you know, your behind on payments and your car is getting repossessed. They are liars and crooks! they want your down payment (because that alone gives them back the money they paid for it at auction) Then they will find some loop hole to say you owe money so they can repossess it and sell it again to make more money. They will seem like they are trying to help you, but PLEASE trust me, Carl is only in it for himself! He does not give a damn about his customers. The two good reviews on here were actually written by his employees! I know because one of them showed up at my work and told me they write good reviews to bring more business!! I'm a single father who is new to florida and tried to find the best deal on a car. I thought I had gotten lucky, but i was wrong. DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE AS I DID!!
I have bought 4 cars from them..one i loved but someone hit me and totaled..carl decided to "help" by giving me a carl that had no oil in it..then when i asked to swap, he hit me with ANOTHER downpayment even though he had just received settlement, on another car that NOW ive discovered leaks worse than the other one. So this was last week..im about a week into hearing about how carl is gonna call back and somehow the one part on my car is the one part they dont wanna cover on the warranty which i find really convenient for c and d..
Low and behold, guess what.....NO CALLS, NO LOANER, MISSED WORK, MISSED SCHOOL. For the first time in 13 years I had no transportation. HOW many DAYS??? 1?? NOPE......2??? NOPE??.....3??...NOPE.....5 DAYS. 5 DAYS, They left me without a car without help and not as much as 1 we are sorry. Every time I asked for an update, I was greeted with the attitude that I was being annoying. God forbid you lose your car and now you ask whats the status. Im not even going to get into the fact they didn't even work on the car the next first 3 days, because it wasn't important to them.
About 14 miles after driving my CROOKED truck home, I called the Dealership to notify them that the truck smelled like fire and that the CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ALREADY ON. KAREN KAREBEAR CARSALES LADY was the person I called, she assured me it was a minor issue to the fact the truck needed its fuel system cleaned out from sitting too long. I was assured it was ok, and the dealer would look at my car the following day to help me clean the fuel system.
Put $50 of gas into the truck and drove it another 16 miles. IT NEVER STARTED AGAIN. DEAD IN MY DRIVEWAY. I called C&D and notified KAREN KAREBEAR CARESALES LADY that I now have dead truck and have no transportation. I told her that I needed a car. I had to work in the morning and also had to get my child to school. KAREN KAREBEAR CARSALES LADY was TOOOOOO BUSY EATING DINNER. Told me that I had to leave her alone so she could get me taken care of. I asked when i could get my Loaner vehicle, she stated that she had to stop talking to me to get my truck picked up.
Ive dealt with Carl a bit and feel he might ve somewhat fair. However, he isnt good at returning phone calls. Stephanie is absolutely awful to the customers-very abrasive and seemingly doesnt relay info to carl...OR carl plays it off as he didn't get important info..either way, their communicAtion sucks.
Me being the trusting guy I am, I didnt inspect the terminal. It was sitting outside service and I got the keys and drove away. 2 Days and 45 miles later, guess who shows up on the dash board?? Thats right, the CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. YAY me. Since I work next to a Firestone Service center I take it over and have them tell me what my CEL is for. BAD ALTERNATOR, BAD BATTERY, BAD ECU, BAD MAIN CPU, and some Exhaust errors. The gentleman popped the hood since, all those things going wrong cant possibly be happening at the same time right??? He was looking and tested all the parts he could. Isolated tests on the car, and just as he was to tell me that all these things are bad...he looks and sees something very familiar to me, but new to him. That's right a Broken Battery Terminal. The battery terminal was never fixed or even touched. The parts in the car are indeed fried....YOU KNOW WHY?? The broken terminal sent improper voltage to the car for 70 miles. Every time I hit a bump the battery cable came off, shorting out major components to the vehicle. Think that C&D would accept responsibility? NOPE.....AS IS....
Recently, my wife and I purchased a 2010 Mini Cooper from C&D Auto Exchange. The experience was by far the best out of all the 6 vehicles I have purchased over the past 10 years living in SWFL. We went in to look at the car at 5pm and were financed and driving out by 7pm. The vehicle was immaculate and the level of service far exceeded our expectations. We highly recommend going to C&D Auto Exchange!
Scam artists, theifs and utterly rude. I regret buying a car from these people. I will make sure anyone I know does not buy from them. They need to be shut down, if I could select no stars I would. Absolutely disgusted with Stephanie and John.
SO, I was then given the chance to swap out my truck. No other truck on the was in my price range. So I chose a small 2008 Honda Accord. After looking at the car( Very Nice Looking) It wouldn't even start. Found out after inspection with C&D employee that it had and improperly sized battery terminal cable. After tightening it as far as it would go, the car would start, but it was evident that the terminal needed replaced. I was assured that the car was being sent to service and then later that day I could pick up the car and be on my way.
